SAP TechEd 2018

A Radically Different SAP TechEd in 2018: Find Out How to Make the Intelligent Enterprise Real

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started digging into show floor plans for SAP TechEd in Las Vegas and Barcelona Come to find out, this year’s event, featuring the SAP TechEd Learning Journeys, takes experienced-based skill-building to a whole new level.

“SAP TechEd gives people direct access to SAP experts who will answer their burning questions about making the intelligent enterprise real,” said Thomas Grassl, vice president and global head of Developer and Community Relations at SAP. “We’ve designed the event to make it easy for developers and technologists to understand the innovations already being built on SAP Cloud Platform, what solutions are involved, which skills they need to expand, and how they can best prepare to architect the future.”

Experience, Access, Learn

Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s radically different at this year’s SAP TechEd show floor.

More ways to do hands-on and engage with our partners: Strategic partners are eager to share how to build and integrate using the latest innovations across the partner and SAP technology and service offerings. Topics include machine learning, mobile, data analytics, and more. Attendees can catch all the action during demos and hands-on tutorials at the Partner Spaces inside the Developer Garage.

In fact, the Developer Garage has been transformed with even more opportunities to learn, network and be inspired. Participants can build new applications in more than 50 one-hour Code Jam events with the experts.

“The App space at SAP TechEd will be the first time anybody can explore and build using the just released SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment,” said Grassl. “This is a huge milestone, and we’re very excited to share this important capability with our community.”

Attendees can relax and reconnect with peers in the all-new Community Lounge, which will also offer learning sessions. There will be space to take new head shots if someone wants to refresh their online SAP Community profile. For the ultimate hands-on security learning experience, attendees can compete to win the Capture the Flag contest. As always, prizes for all the challenges come from the well-stocked SAP Store.

Have some fun: Hop on the life-size battleship game for an exhilarating round, or swing by the “Pose and Post” corner for selfies with life-size SAP logo cut-outs.

Experience intelligent business: Attendees can discover the cascading impact of dynamically changing technologies on their careers. They can put on a virtual reality (VR) headset or step up to full-size screens for a firsthand experience with intelligent business use cases at the Intelligent Enterprise Showcase. This fully immersive, interactive display of how global leaders envision intelligent business is just the beginning of the SAP Experience. Spotlights on the latest SAP innovations include SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, SAP C/4 HANA, and SAP Leonardo.

Not sure where to begin? Content experts stationed just inside the doors at the Information/Content Concierge will provide suggestions — hands-on workshops, road map deep-dives, small group sessions, demo-rich lectures, and more — to match someone’s individual interests.
