SAP Named as a Leader in B2B and B2C Commerce Suites by Independent Research Firm

Newsbyte

WALLDORF — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) has been named as a leader in two recent reports from Forrester Research Inc.: “The Forrester Wave™: B2C Commerce Suites, Q3 2018” and “The Forrester Wave™: B2B Commerce Suites, Q3 2018.”

Forrester Research’s B2C report notes that commerce suite vendors are responding to their clients’ needs by investing in “AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, analytics and business user tooling.” These investments help automate merchandising, boost the impact that teams have on the customer experience and streamline operations.

Meanwhile, Forrester’s B2B report highlights how B2B digital commerce is only now maturing, bringing together the best from B2C with the “nuance that B2B businesses require.”

In both reports, Forrester notes that the SAP Commerce Cloud portfolio has the ability to deliver a full-featured suite that leverages the strength of the SAP ecosystem and integrates with SAP S/4HANA and the SAP C/4HANA suite. Revenue from SAP Commerce Cloud is split 50/50 between B2B and B2C clients, and Forrester says it is equally adept in both areas.

The two reports note that SAP has invested heavily in its cloud strategy, and that the suites are now available on both the private cloud from SAP and the Kubernetes-based Microsoft Azure public cloud. Forrester says SAP is now realizing the benefits of this strategy, with half of its 2017 commerce revenue coming from its cloud offerings. In the B2C report, the research firm says SAP Commerce Cloud is a best fit for companies looking for an industrial-strength, full-function commerce platform in wide use across several industry verticals.

“SAP continues to drive commerce leadership with an integrated cloud platform that puts the customer in control of what can be a very complex digital landscape,” said Chris Hauca, head of strategy, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP. “Ultimately, companies that create a personalized and seamless experience across all channels of purchase and interaction will be the ones that win.”

B2B and B2C customers of SAP Commerce Cloud include the following:

  • Lemon Sports, a fitness and technology startup, is building an intelligent Internet platform on cloud solutions from SAP. Lemon Sports chose SAP S/4HANA Cloud to improve operation efficiency. The company plans to build a national marketing and sales network using SAP C/4HANA, and to develop a service-based e-commerce system that will provide its clients with access to sports services 24×7.
  • Sampo Corporation, the leading domestic appliance manufacturer in Taiwan, has chosen SAP C/4HANA over Salesforce.com to improve its online retail presence and bring it onto a single integrated platform. SAP S/4HANA was also chosen as Sampo’s digital core to optimize business operations.
  • Faberlic’s product lines include a range of skin care and hair care products, French perfumes, makeup, wellness, home care products, family clothes, underwear, accessories and shoes. The company, which serves customers in Europe, Asia and internationally, needed a high-performance, robust platform to support its fast-growing business, and is using the enterprise-class features of SAP Commerce Cloud to improve its total cost of ownership and time to market.
  • Isagenix International is a privately held company that markets weight loss, energy, performance and healthy aging products through a direct selling model. The company, which is based in Gilbert, Arizona, and has approximately 1,000 employees and 600,000 customers worldwide, selected SAP Commerce Cloud because it includes essential features and industry functionality that would have cost significantly more to build with another vendor. The company was able to replace legacy systems, improve the customer experience and reduce time to market using the integrated SAP software system that met all its business requirements.
