This is an exciting time for soccer fans of the German Bundesliga team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and English Premier League club Manchester City.
Both teams will face each other in the UEFA Champions League group stage, with the first match taking place in Hoffenheim’s WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, Germany, on Tuesday, October 2. Manchester City, for example, has implemented human capital management (HCM) solutions from SAP SuccessFactors to help manage its growing international workforce and to empower employees with self-service and collaboration tools to help enhance productivity and engagement.
City Football Group is also utilizing the social software platform SAP Jam to keep employees engaged and up-to-date on the latest football and company news, while also providing a user-friendly space for employees to collaborate. SAP Jam allows employees in remote locations to more easily organize a range of community initiatives, a key focus of City Football Group.
At TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, SAP software and innovations touch every area of the club, meaning team and coach, management, and fans. Hoffenheim relies on SAP Event Ticketing to manage ticket sales, the merchandising online store runs on SAP Commerce and the staff at the food and beverage stands in the stadium use SAP Customer Checkout to process the payments. SAP Cloud for Customer enables TSG Hoffenheim to then consolidate all fan-related data and select target groups for communication with their fans, such as newsletters or marketing promotions. These solutions are supplemented by SAP Ariba in Supplier Management and SAP SuccessFactors in HR.
The club also uses SAP Sports One to map game preparation, talent development, scouting, and everything related to player health digitally. Through intelligent diagnostics of player performance data TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is able to optimize team and individual training load as needed, to carry out injury prevention measures, and to bring scouting and talent searches to the next level.
Technology is one key factor to be successful in the highly competitive soccer world.
