WALLDORF SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has been named as a Leader in “The Forrester Wave™: Data Preparation Solutions, Q4 2018,”* in its first year of participation in this vendor evaluation report.

Data preparation is the act of processing raw data or disparate sources of data into information that can be used more effectively, and accessed more easily, for various business purposes. It is critical for businesses looking to drive more successful analytics, data migration and master data management initiatives. The SAP Agile Data Preparation application provides users with greater agility to respond to new data sources, business requirements and market opportunities.

According to the report, SAP Agile Data Preparation “serves users of multiple SAP platforms. SAP’s ADP, launched in 2015, is relatively new compared to other evaluated vendors’ data prep solutions. ADP serves SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Data Hub and SAP HANA Data Management Suite and leverages additional applications from the vendor, including SAP Data Quality and Data Services. SAP’s robust list of planned enhancements for ADP focus on embedding machine learning to move its data prep capabilities in the direction of today’s standalone solutions.”

Based on customer feedback to Forrester, the report also states: “Customer references cite the value of ADP’s ‘fully cloud and secure solution’ as well as the ‘easy interface, agility and speed.’”

SAP Agile Data Preparation helps companies:

  • Drive business user collaboration and sharing by empowering business users to instantly improve the value and usefulness of data by discovering, preparing and sharing information without requiring additional help from IT
  • Discover and understand data in a new, agile way by quickly importing multiple data sets from any source with the ability to cleanse, enrich and combine data
  • Enable self-service data curation for better analysis to prepare data sets with a visual, interactive interface that is easy to use and suggests one-click fixes for inaccurate, incomplete and duplicate data
  • Manage multiuser authorizations and history by providing users with authorization rights based on the information they are permitted to access. Users can review actions taken from original data sets that have already been processed, and all action history is recorded so mistakes can be corrected with one click.
