SAPERION survey finds ECM going SaaS
The market analysts at Gartner are projecting growth of 16.2% in software as a service (SaaS) for 2011. This forecast is in line with the results of a survey the SAPERION company conducted of 100 members of the SAPERION User Group, which also found that more and more customers are running SaaS solutions for enterprise content management (ECM).
Meanwhile, 50% of those surveyed stated their intention to focus more on using SaaS, and 25% already have specific plans to do so. Here, a clear majority would prefer keeping their operations in a private cloud to retain control of where and how data is stored, as well as the ability to monitor aspects of compliance and security on their own.
