SAP named to Global 100 list of most sustainable large corporations in the world for fifth year in a row.

JohannesburgFor the fifth year in a row, SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) has been named to the Global 100 list of the most sustainable corporations in the world. Corporate Knights and international finance and investment advisory firm Innovest Strategic Value Advisors released the annual list on 28 January 2009, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Companies included in the Global 100 are selected based on an analysis of 1 800 publicly traded companies. The Global 100 selection board evaluates companies on 80 sustainability indicators relating to how well they manage environmental, social and governance responsibilities. The list comprises the 100 companies with the highest scores in Innovest’s proprietary Intangible Value Assessment.

In addition to its inclusion in the Global 100 list, SAP has previously been recognised for its sustainable business practices by the FTSE4Good index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, where it leads the software sector (see related 9 September 2008, announcement, “SAP Continues to Lead Software Sector in Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes”). SAP has also been named to the Global Challenges Index, which recognises transparency and anti-corruption efforts (see related Sept. 16, 2008, announcement, “SAP Maintains Position in Global Challenges Index”).
