Johannesburg — SAP University Alliances and Foris Telecom have signed a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide the SAP curriculum and WiMax connection respectively to the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
The Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, is the oldest and largest institution of higher learning in Mozambique. The MOU will be used as a pilot for the roll-out of the SAP University Alliances curriculum to Sub-Saharan Africa and other regions in the Continent.
‘The agreement fits in with the Foris Telecom objective of bringing broadband to the masses in least developed countries. We believe in the value that the SAP University Alliance Programme will provide in bridging the skills divide,’ says Dr Yonathan Mizrachi, Digital Inclusion and eGovernment Officer at Foris Telecom.
The University Alliance Programme is by far an honest and highly important initiative to take part in for human capacity development,’ he adds.
‘African development is a critical part of what the University Alliance is about. This initiative therefore adds impetus to the SAP campaign for talent and skills for rapidly developing and growing markets,’ says Max Fuzani, University Alliances Manager at SAP Africa.
The Eduardo Mondlane University will join several other universities that are already part of the SAP University Alliances around the globe.
