SAP Africa appoints former COO to drive business development activities across Africa, former SAP VP to position of COO

JohannesburgAfrica has announced the appointment of Maphum Nxumalo into the position of Executive Director, Business Development.

In this role he will focus on the creation of new opportunities, while working closely with the regional directors and the sales team across sub-Saharan Africa.

“While we are beginning to feel the breeze of recession, there are significant opportunities across the rest of Africa and we are keen to realise this potential through relevant solutions. SAP is ready to work closely with current and potential customers, as well as partners across the continent. The time for Africa is now,” says Pfungwa Serima, SAP Africa Managing Director.

“With Nxumalo taking up his new role, we have appointed Ashley Boag to the position of Chief Operations Officer. Boag is the former Vice-President, Field Management and Operations, for SAP Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

“Ashley Boag has tremendous local, regional and global experience, including working with the SAP Africa team, our partners and customers during his tenure as Vice-President. He has also spent several years studying in South Africa and understands the African landscape very well. These appointments bode well for the SAP Africa as it continues along its ambitious growth trajectory,” says Pfungwa Serima.
