SAP appoints State Informatics as first Mauritian service partner

JohannesburgSAP, the world’s leading provider of business enterprise application software, has appointed State Informatics (SIL) as the first “service partner for large enterprise” in Mauritius.

The service partner agreement between SAP and SIL was officially signed in Mauritius recently. The agreement now allows SIL to provide SAP implementation and consulting services throughout the Republic of Mauritius and the entire African region.

“This agreement is a testimony of the trust relationship between SIL and SAP, the world’s leading provider of enterprise application software, with very stringent benchmarks. We are very proud to be the first and only SAP service partner in Mauritius, and we believe that our partnership with SAP will certainly enhance the service to our existing customers and potential future clients. It adds to our portfolio of partnerships with other technology providers. The SAP agreement is also an excellent showcase for the recognition of Mauritian expertise in the field of ICT, in line with the ambitions of Mauritius to become a regional ICT hub,” says Kemraz Mohee, General Manager at SIL. SIL, an integrated IT solutions provider, already has a proven strong track record since 1989, including a number of successful SAP implementations in Mauritius.

“SAP helps organisations of all sizes – including small business and midsize companies – to become best-run businesses. By using SAP solutions, companies and public sector organisations can reduce cost and optimise performance. SIL has demonstrated its abilities in delivering efficient solutions based on SAP software for several years, and we are confident that this partnership will continue to grow,” says Tim Toussaint, SAP Country Manager for Mauritius.

SIL has been successful in implementing various SAP solutions since 2007, including the SAP Integrated Tax Administration Solution for Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). The SAP Integrated Tax Administration Solution has several benefits such as tools for collecting taxes, analysing and processing tax information. This state-of-the-art system is flexible, easily integrates databases from various departments within the organisation and comprises of back-office systems as well as a web portal for taxpayers. This flexibility has certainly enhanced efficiency to the advantage of the revenue organisation (MRA) and of taxpayers.

“SAP and SIL have been working together on customer projects for a couple of years. We are very pleased to see that SIL now has achieved formal accreditation as SAP service partner. Together with SIL, we will continue to deliver innovative business solutions in Mauritius and the region, on premise, on demand and on mobile devices,” concludes Toussaint.
