The highly anticipated AFSUG conference – Saphila 2012 – will offer training courses to empower business users to run at their best.
Johannesburg — Saphila 2012, the most prestigious biennial African SAP User Group (AFSUG) conference, will, for the first time, be offering SAP training courses to delegates.
This year’s biggest Saphila 2012 conference, to be held at Sun City, is expected to attract more than 1 300 delegates and will feature solutions experts, partners and customers to share best practices in implementing SAP technologies. This year’s theme is “The Moment is Now” and will focus on customer-driven education in order to facilitate knowledge sharing and foster an environment of innovation.
One of the highlights at Saphila will see training on SAP’s breakthrough in-memory database technology, HANA. SAP HANA natively leverages hardware evolution in processors, memory, storage and networks, and can analyse big data at the speed of thought, which empowers companies to rapidly react to change. SAP HANA is 100 000 times faster than traditional databases.
SAP will be offering four one-day training courses. The SAP HANA Overview and SAP BW on SAP HANA courses will take place on 29 October. The SAP HANA implementation and Modelling course, as well as Mobility Fundamentals and Best Practices course, will run on 30 October. The courses will provide training from top tech experts as well as feature e-learning, manuals and certification. Course participants will receive massive savings from between 12% up to 43% by doing the courses at Saphila.
Saphila 2012 features a jam-packed agenda that will cover more than 100 sessions spanning two days. Strategic insight will be delivered around database, HANA, mobility, cloud computing and rapid deployment solutions with the aim to enable businesses of all sizes to run at their best.
Some of the highlights to look forward to include a presentation by Carlos Lopez Pampin, senior manager at Accenture Spain, who will tell the story of how SAP HANA can transform your business. Clint Vosloo, founder and director of BI in the Box, is Africa’s first ever SAP mentor and will provide an in-depth, step-by-step journey of how to get a HANA and BI Explorer environment working together using cloud technology.
Waldemar Adams, SAP VP Business Intelligence for EMEA and Head of Centre of Excellence for BI, will reveal how SAP BusinessObjects mobile BI can empower mobile workers with real-time visibility into their projects. Kayser Benjamin, SAP principal solution architect, will demonstrate how to replicate tables from a transactional system into HANA, create a data model and generate an exploration view on an iPad.
