Common Business Platform to Benefit Westcon-Comstor Customers in Zambia

Westcon-Comstor, the leading value-added global distributor of security, unified communications, network infrastructure and data centre solutions, is pleased to announce that customers in Zambia will now benefit from the global roll-out of SAP, which is today live in 54 countries.

The announcement follows a three-year transformation programme, which now sees the conclusion of Westcon-Comstor’s global rollout, with the implementation of the Africa businesses being the most recent addition to the company’s single, unified use of SAP around the world.

“We are pleased to announce that as part of Westcon-Comstor Southern Africa, we are now able to leverage a single process-driven solution that will bring operational efficiencies to us, our vendors and our resellers and solution providers,” states Deirdre Bailey, Regional Manager at Westcon-Comstor in Zambia.

“With this common business platform, which spans across five continents we can gain a cohesive view of our worldwide operations, as well as provide customers with a complete, 360-degree analysis of their business,” she says.

According to the company some of the key benefits of the global deployment, for customers, include:
•Global customer and order management – Real-time availability of global orders, inventory and system-based tax and invoicing capabilities.
•Professional services – Enhanced lifecycle management, including deferred revenue recognition and accounting automation of services transactions
•Trade and business compliance – Improved management of compliance activities such as validation of every transaction against a denied/restricted party list, and more
•Inventory management – More effective stock control and functionality across regions using SAP’s advanced planning and optimisation solution.

In addition to the deployment of SAP, the Westcon-Comstor business in Zambia is currently rolling out the company’s BlueSky digital logistics platform, onboarding resellers to the system. Where they can now digitally engage with vendors and customers, as well as procure cloud-based technologies and solutions online. The BlueSky solution is integrated with SAP, ensuring that it delivers on its promise as a fully integrated e-commerce engine.

“As part of a global organisation, we are in the fortunate position to be able to leverage global know how, vendor relationships and tailored services, in order to better meet the needs of customer who want to scale their own offerings to end users. We believe that we are now in a prime position to be able to offer customers in Zambia with a host of ICT technologies and services that will help them drive their customer’s digital transformation aims,” ends Bailey.
