SAP S/4HANA was introduced in February 2015 and is the fast-growing product in SAP history. This tremendous growth demonstrates that SAP customers — both new and old — are embracing a new digital core to help transform into a digital business.

To take a deeper look at the momentum of SAP S/4HANA, we engaged with IDC to survey more than 300 SAP customers in nine countries and conduct interviews with organizations live with SAP S/4HANA. The end result is a white paper, “Voice of the Customer: 10 Insights, Direct from SAP S/4HANA Pioneers,” sponsored by SAP, which provides valuable data about why customers are choosing SAP S/4HANA to refresh their ERP systems. Among the highlights:
- 67% of customers surveyed are either live with SAP S/4HANA or have plans to be
- Customers live with or planning to deploy SAP S/4HANA identified three key business drivers: real-time access to information, improved employee productivity, and reduced costs
Beyond the business benefits, IDC interviews with deployed SAP S/4HANA customers revealed that, on the scale from heavy customization to no customization, they are leaning toward zero or near-zero customization. And SAP customers are using SAP S/4HANA throughout their business. Finally, while additional skills may be required, the need for training is minimized by the use of the SAP Fiori user experience, which leverages universally familiar, consumer-grade digital interactions.
When insight, flexibility, and responsiveness are critical to success, companies cannot rely on yesterday’s technology. One of the first steps in many companies’ journey toward a new digital core is to understand how customers are deploying and using SAP S/4HANA.
