Big data spending in Africa and the Middle East will grow by 11 percent to $2.2 billion this year and hit $3.2 billion by the year 2020 according to International Data Corporation. Among the biggest spenders are governments, financial services and telecommunications. CNBC Africa’s Charles Gitonga spoke to Steve Stathis Tzikakis, President of South Europe, Middle East and Africa at SAP on big data development in Africa.
