We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Duke Mathebula (MBA) as the Chairman of the Board of African SAP User Group, with immediate effect. Mr Mathebula was appointed Vice Chairman in December of 2019 and appointed as Chairman by a unanimous resolution of the Board of Directors dated 13 July 2020. Reg Barry will step down as Chairman and assume the position of Vice Chairman, in a supportive role to the Chairman of AFSUG.
Mr Mathebula’s appointment as Chairman of the Board is in line with the company’s overarching and succession planning objective of evolving into a leading knowledge sharing platform for the AFSUG Community, delivering the company’s vision and the agenda for transformation within the SAP User Community through initiating and influencing relationships with and between key stakeholders within the business.
He will be accountable for the operations and management of AFSUG and take executive leadership responsibility for the AFSUG Office Personnel to manage, administer and execute the daily operations, events, membership and coordination of all AFSUG activities with approval from the Board.
Mr Mathebula brings to AFSUG a wealth of knowledge and experience that relates to SAP business operations with his knowledge and implementation of Business Applications strategy, IT Leadership within SAP Solutions, Project Management, Business Automation, Analytics and Digital areas.
