Expo 2020 Dubai: Journalist Accreditation Information

Corporate Business In The Middle East

In less than two weeks, Expo 2020 Dubai will open its doors on October 1st, 2021, and run till March 31st, 2022.

This world event (delayed due to C-19) will host more than 191 nations from across the globe showcasing the best of technologies and culture, focused on identifying solutions to some of the greatest challenges of our time.

SAP is Expo’s 2020 Dubai Innovative Enterprise Software Partner and will help deliver a seamless, integrated experience to suppliers and millions of anticipated participants and visitors. We are looking forward to reimagine the future together with Expo 2020 Dubai.

Knowing that the event will generate significant news throughout the months to come, we want to ensure you’re able to cover the event virtually or in person.

For those able to attend in person, SAP looks forward to hosting you (and our customers, partners, and government delegations) at the SAP House exhibition space, located at the heart of the Expo site next to the Al Wasl Plaza. This unique space offers a great opportunity to meet with spokespeople and showcases the latest SAP products and technologies focused on building a resilient future.

To attend Expo 2020 either remotely or in person, all media must be accredited.

Two Step Registration:

  1. The Expo 2020 Media Information System (called Tawassul) can be accessed at https://media.expo2020dubai.com. Tawassul is an operational tool connecting you to important information and updates on facilities and services, including media accreditation and permits. Tawassul also provides content including press releases, photographs, audio and video and the electronic media kit and information on Broadcast and Photography Operations. Information related to access to other media related systems (Media Asset Management System and Media Bookings System) can also be found in Tawassul.
  2. Once registered for Tawassul, media will be able to submit an Expo 2020 Media Accreditation expression of interest. Note: registering for Tawassul does not automatically generate an accreditation request. Each organisation is required to submit one Media Accreditation expression of interest in Tawassul to commence the media accreditation process.

Within the expression of interest, you will need to appoint an Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) from within your organisation who will act as the single point of contact with Expo 2020 and provide organisation details plus the number of requested media accreditations. Following this, approved media organisations will be provided login details and instructions for the accreditation system where applications for individual applicants will need to be submitted. The ALO acts on behalf of the respective organisation in all capacities and will be responsible for submitting applications on behalf of its personnel, including any third-party/subcontractor personnel.
