SAP and Automatic Data Processing form ASP partnership for Payroll and HR solutions across Asia Pacific

Sydney, AustraliaSAP, the world’s leading provider of collaborative e-business software solutions and Automatic Data Processing Limited (ADP), the leading global provider of integrated payroll and HR solutions, today announced the signing of an ASP Partnership Agreement for the SAP Payroll and SAP HR solutions in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region.

The SAP/ADP partnership will deliver flexible, secure and reliable access to the SAP web-based payroll and SAP HR solutions to large corporate organisations and small to medium enterprises wishing to outsource their payroll and HR to enable “one-stop-shopping” on a price per employee basis.

In July 2000, ADP acquired PayConnect Solutions Ltd, Australia’s largest payroll and HR administration company, to assist ADP’s vigorous expansion into the Asia Pacific market.

“This partnership brings ADP’s 50 years experience and expertise in payroll and HR services together with SAP’s market-leading set of applications, allowing our customers across the Asia Pacific region to rapidly streamline and more effectively manage all aspects of their payroll/HR operations,” said Graham O’Donnell, Managing Director of ADP Australia. “Our customers – some of the region’s largest corporations and thousands of small and medium sized businesses – want to reduce the total cost of systems ownership, and by using the ASP business model we will provide them with scalable applications, predictable costs and open access to the latest technologies and functionality.”

“This partnership also supports ADP’s global strategy of providing a flexible integration solution that links ERP systems with industry leading payroll solutions through ADP Connection (ERP Interface). This will also enable organisations to leverage ADP’s unique IT infrastructure. Irrespective of what payroll engine a client uses they now have access to ADP’s ConnectPlus print and distribution services associated with the payroll and HR activities,” he added.

“ADP was a natural partner for SAP as the alliance brings together two world-leading companies with complementary capabilities and a focus on delivering the highest levels of customer service,” said Chris Bennett, CEO and Managing Director, SAP Australia and New Zealand. “This relationship will provide small to medium-sized companies with the same tools and services that their larger competitors use to better meet their customers’ and employees needs.”

Using the ASP model, customers pay only for access to, and use of, applications provided through the SAP/ADP partnership. This will limit the up-front investment required and reduce overall cost of ownership therefore, reducing customer exposure to the risk associated with implementing and maintaining their own in-house applications.

The partnership combines the benefits of access to the SAP applications with ADP’s ability to deliver a flexible range of payroll and HR outsourcing services including the backend print and distribution services. The SAP/ADP partnership will help customers reduce costs, improve efficiency, automate transactions and facilitate the real-time integration of e-business with multiple suppliers and partners worldwide.
