SAP specialist enters OH&S Market

Sydney, AustraliaConsultants Network Australia Pty Ltd (C-Net) today announces an agreement with SAP for the continued development and support of an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) module for mySAP.com customers. The C-Net product, “SafetyNet for SAP”, is an enhanced version of the module originally developed by SAP for the Australian market. It will initially be targeted at customers with the 4.6 version of SAP software.

“Our product will offer an upgrade path to future SAP releases as well as dedicated ongoing support to SAP’s OH&S customers,” Bill Reid, C-Net Director, said.

Currently undergoing an intensive product development regime, the C-Net “SafetyNet for SAP” release 2.0 is available in June 2001. Designed initially for clients in the mining and heavy industrial industry sectors, the product is being developed for use across a wide range of industries. Mr Reid believes the “SafetyNet for SAP” meets a growing business need, as workplace safety has become a major issue and hot topic in business environments. The development work currently being undertaken by C-Net is aimed at ensuring that the module’s functionality caters for all pertinent Australian legislative requirements.

Mr John Dubois, a spokesperson for SAP, has confirmed that the agreement with C-Net demonstrates SAP’s strategic commitment to the ongoing development of its products and support of OH&S module users.

C-Net was established in 1995 to market SAP skills and services and develop technical solutions for SAP clients. Currently the company has 20 consultants working on client projects across a number of industries. “Our main strength is in growing long-term partnerships with our customers, taking responsibility for their issues, and working jointly for success,” Mr Reid said.

The launch of the C-Net “SafetyNet for SAP” will provide a platform for business growth and diversification that will result in an increased national profile for the Melbourne-based firm.
