Geraldine McBride to Continue Leading SAP ANZ as the Top Sales Region for SAP Asia Pacific
Sydney — SAP Asia today announced the appointment of Geraldine McBride as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for SAP ANZ, covering the Australia and New Zealand region. Ms. McBride was formerly Senior Vice President of the Consumer and Manufacturing Sector at the US subsidiary.
“Geraldine McBride brings to the region over 20 years of experience in the global technology industry, half of which has been with SAP,” said Hans-Peter Klaey, President of SAP Asia Pacific. “With her understanding of the local business environment, deep sector knowledge and customer focus, I am confident that Geraldine will continue driving SAP as the number one software provider in the ANZ market and the top sales region for SAP Asia Pacific. This is in line with our strategic goal in 2003 to help SMBs and large corporations in Asia Pacific be the best-run businesses. As an organisation, we will achieve this by focusing on strong execution built around our customers’ business.”
McBride’s appointment follows the departure of Chris Bennett who resigned for personal reasons. Added Mr Klaey, “We wish Chris well and thank him for his contribution to SAP.”
McBride was Managing Director of SAP New Zealand for four years from 1996 to 2000, having joined SAP South Africa from IBM two years prior. In 2000, she became part of the SAP America leadership team as Senior Vice President and General Manager responsible for leading the consumer and manufacturing sectors in addition to building the CRM business and transforming SAP America’s 2003 field organisation.
