SAP Appoints New Head in Marketing for Australia and New Zealand

Ray Kloss Joins SAP to enhance Field Marketing Activities; Departs PeopleSoft

Sydney, AustraliaSAP Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) has announced the appointment of Ray Kloss as Executive Manager Field Marketing, SAP Australia and New Zealand. The position, a new role within SAP’s integrated marketing team, has been created to align with SAP’s global investment strategies in people and product.

• The global company expects total license revenues to grow at 10-12 per cent by the end of the year. By April, 2005, the company’s worldwide market share against its peer group, based on software revenues, was 58%, on a rolling four quarter basis.
• Increase the number of small and medium business (SMB) customers to over 300 across Australia and New Zealand by December 2005
• By 2010, SAP expects at least 50% of revenue will be generated from products developed off the NetWeaver application and integration platform.

The appointment of Kloss highlights SAP Australia and New Zealand’s drive to accelerate growth in key industries and solutions segments. He is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that will continue SAP’s strong growth and penetration into mid-market and enterprise accounts.

Kloss reports to Steve Watts, Director, Marketing and Business Development, SAP Australia and New Zealand

“Ray’s appointment spearheads a number of organisational changes that will strengthen relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities. We are building an integrated marketing and business development team to drive SAP’s leadership in the business applications market,” said Watts.

Kloss joins SAP from Peoplesoft, where he was Director, Industry and Product Marketing for Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. Kloss was responsible for leading the PeopleSoft marketing effort and for the development of a business-level solutions architecture in the region. He also led software license revenue business planning including market analysis, opportunity development and go-to-market strategy formulation.

Kloss has previously worked as a director for HP and Lend Lease and earlier in his career as a senior sales representative for IBM.
