SAP announces new CEO & managing director

Sydney, AustraliaSAP has announced a new CEO and managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Alan Hyde, currently general manager of SAP’s Northern Region, will become CEO & managing director of SAP in Australia and New Zealand.

Alan succeeds Geraldine McBride in the position, who is moving to become Regional President of SAP Asia Pacific (see related announcements). Alan will assume his new role on 1 January, 2007, at the same time as Geraldine takes up her new role based out of Singapore.

Alan joined SAP in 2003 from PeopleSoft in ANZ having served in senior roles locally and in the United Kingdom. He is an IT veteran with over 20 years of experience, having held various management and sales responsibilities at PeopleSoft, IBM and Systems Software Associates. He graduated from the University of Curtin, Western Australia with a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Economics.

Alan will be based in Sydney while Geraldine will relocate to Singapore to run SAP’s business in the region. Geraldine takes over from Hans-Peter Klaey who will become global president of a newly created organisation business unit for small and midsize enterprises (SME).
