SAP, IBM and IBM Business Partners join forces — Australian midsize enterprises to benefit

Wholesale Distributors & Manufacturers first to access new, localised SAP All-in-One industry-specific offerings — “IBM Express Solutions”

Sydney, AustraliaSYDNEY, 19 March 2007: SAP Australia Pty Ltd and IBM Australia Limited today announced an agreement that will see IBM and its Business Partner network take SAP All-in-One industry specific ERP solutions to the local mid-market.

SAP All-In-One makes it easier and affordable for midsize companies to access, deploy and quickly realise the benefits of the world’s leading ERP software.

Under the new agreement, IBM and its Business Partners will deliver SAP All-in-One and IBM’s own portfolio of All-in-One solutions marketed under the brand name IBM Express Solutions.

SAP All-in-One is embedded with unique Australian business requirements such as GST, Business Activity Statements (BAS) and payroll functions. It enables fast deployment – taking up to 40% less time than more traditional implementation projects and therefore costing 50% less. Other benefits include a proven, step-by-step, deployment process that clarifies scope and reduces risk.

IBM Express Solutions for SAP All-in-One are fixed-scope bundled solutions designed for specific industries with a predictable deployment time of eight to sixteen weeks. Enriched by the deep industry knowledge and business process expertise of IBM Global Business Services consultants, they deliver additional value to the mid-market including:

– Rapid deployment timeframes
– Targeted, industry-specific business benefits
– Lower deployment costs
– Predictable cost & deployment timeline, and

IBM has developed 32 Express Industry Solutions world-wide. IBM Australia has selected a number of these relevant to the local market and modified them to reflect the Australian market’s requirements.

Local wholesale distributors and manufacturers will be first to benefit from the new offerings with IBM Express Wholesale Distribution Solution available immediately and IBM Express Fabrication & Assembly Solution due in late March.

As a result of the agreement, the distribution channel for SAP All-in-One in Australia will reach unprecedented levels, making wide-spread delivery and support of the mid-market version of the world’s leading ERP system available to local organisations everywhere.

In an indication of the commitment both organisations have given to this agreement, SAP Australia’s Channels Director, Tim Cavill, has been appointed by SAP as ANZ Channels Director for IBM. Cavill will be based in IBM’s St Leonards office as part of the IBM team. He will be responsible for further developing market execution, including IBM’s channel capacity, hosting services, demand generation and delivery services.
