SAP appoints new COO for Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, AustraliaSAP today announced the appointment of Therese McGrath to the role of chief operating officer for SAP Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). As COO, Therese will be a key member of the SAP ANZ Executive Leadership Team.

Therese will provide strategic direction and oversight to the financial and operational activities of SAP and will lead a team of 40 across core finance, legal and contracts, sales operations, facilities, purchasing, IT and business partner management.

Therese will play a lead role in contract negotiations and deal structuring with customers and will help build SAP’s public industry profile. She will report to Alan Hyde, chief executive & managing director, ANZ and Colin Sampson, chief operating officer, APJ.

Therese joins SAP from Microsoft in Singapore, where she most recently held the position of business development and operations director for the Small and Medium Business and Partner Group in Asia Pacific. Therese was appointed to this role following her success as a director in Microsoft’s Small Business Division for ANZ.

Prior to Microsoft, Therese spent five years with the Thomson Group, joining the organisation as CFO for Asia Pacific and ultimately being appointed SVP and CFO for Thomson NETg, based in Chicago, Illinois. Before Thomson Group, Therese held senior strategy, commercial, marketing, financial and advisory roles in Europe and the US for Diageo Plc and Avis.

Therese has spent most of her career working internationally and has lived on all but two continents. She will be based in SAP’s Sydney office.
