Sydney Institute of ERP is first SAP Education partner to offer Foundations Program to recent graduates and new recruits within the SAP ecosystem
Sydney. Australia — SAP Australia today announced the launch of the SAP Education Foundations Program, a professional software certification program targeting recent graduates and individuals with little or no SAP experience. The Program aims to provide the core skills that support a career in SAP. Courses combine software training and technical know-how with strong consulting and management communication expertise and project work experience.
The SAP Education Foundations curriculum includes modules on external consulting, project management, presentation skills and management negotiation. Students will be exposed to real world SAP projects via case studies focused on implementation, onshore/offshore development and upgrade projects. Foundations Courses can be delivered on a full time schedule over eight weeks or on an extended part-time basis.
“We continue to see strong demand for specific SAP skills in Australia,” said Angie Vaux, Director of Education, SAP Australia and New Zealand. “The SAP Education Foundations initiative is designed to rapidly up skill new and emerging consultants and ensure a steady supply of skilled SAP consultants now and into the future. The objective of the Foundations Program is to fast track the enablement of quality SAP skills in order to grow the SAP ecosystem.”
The recently established Sydney Institute of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is currently accepting applications for the SAP Education Foundations Program with courses scheduled to commence in May 2009. The first course is available for the discounted launch rate of $5,200 for students that register before 24th April 2009.
“The Sydney institute of ERP, the first vendor specific educational institution in Australia, has been set up to provide new and experienced consultants with the latest SAP Academy software certifications including the SAP Education Foundations Program,” continued Vaux.
SAP will extend the Education Foundations curriculum to its network of commercial education partners and University based academies in Australia.
The SAP Education Foundations Program qualification is endorsed by SAP and will be recognised by employers globally as the industry-standard mark of quality within the SAP ecosystem. For partners and customers, this will provide a new cost effective enablement program; for new graduates and individuals, it will provide accelerated paths into employment opportunities within the SAP Ecosystem.
“The SAP Education Foundations program will deliver technical training and professional skills and knowledge to new IT software professionals embarking on their career within the extended SAP ecosystem,” continued Vaux. “We recognise that new consultants require support for ‘soft’ skills and exposure to real-world implementations, as well as the traditional software product training. This is particularly important in a constrained economic environment where we see pressure on resources and employment opportunities.”
The SAP Education Foundations Program builds on SAP’s current education offerings, including the SAP University Alliance Program, and provides new up-skilling options for recent graduates, partner consultants and SAP customers.
Following the successful completion of the SAP Education Foundations Program, individuals can undertake various SAP project roles, while they gain relevant SAP project and industry experience to enable further specialisation and development via SAP Education Solution Academies.
The software focused elements of the program incorporate an introduction to ERP business processes and integration as well as SAP technologies and practical knowledge on software implementations.
