Tango launches New Zealand’s first fixed price, fixed scope SAP ERP solution

Jump-Start from Tango delivers midmarket ERP deployment in eight to 12 weeks

Auckland, New ZealandFor the first time New Zealand businesses can purchase a fixed price, fixed scope SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and have it deployed on premise in eight to 12 weeks. The Jump-Start ERP solution from SAP partner Tango comprises SAP Business All-in-One software licences, deployed by Tango consultants on IBM servers.

Jump-Start is based on SAP Best Practice and prices start at $247,000.

The New Zealand purpose-built version of SAP Business All-in-One is designed to meet the needs of enterprises with between 20 and 80 employees in manufacturing and wholesale distribution. It was developed following research by Tango that showed demand from mid-sized businesses for SAP Best Practice-based solutions, configured to their needs and bundled with hardware, project accelerators and application configuration tools.

Philip Bratton, managing director Tango Group, says Jump-Start addresses perceptions around risk and expense that some people have of ERP implementations.

“Jump-Start delivers a complete ERP solution ready to run in less than three months. The predictability of Jump-Start improves the business case for change, helping organisations make a decision to improve commercial performance and business flexibility for years to come.

“Renovating your business systems is a proactive measure companies can take to increase margin, whether in a slow or fast growing business environment. In fact, in a sluggish business environment, process efficiency is the next best thing to growth, extracting margin and setting the company up for future growth.

“One of our existing customers, Aotearoa Breweries, is a six person company running SAP Business All-in-One, proof that you don’t need to be a big organisation to run ERP software. Jump-Start makes it even easier for more mid-size companies to reap the benefits of improved business processes based on industry best practices,” says Bratton.

Jump-Start for SAP Business All-in-One is designed to provide a baseline for organisations wanting a solution to support key business processes critical to their success. The solution fulfils local business requirements for Financial Accounting such as GST and provides a chart of accounts customised to New Zealand business needs.

Graeme Riley, SAP New Zealand managing director, says rapidly growing companies in New Zealand are faced with a dilemma, particularly in times of economic uncertainty.

“Do they replace their business management systems and create a platform that supports continued growth or persevere with existing technologies and point solutions, despite their constraints and shortcomings?” asks Riley.

“By streamlining systems and using analytic tools to get timely, accurate and actionable information businesses can respond faster to emerging needs and opportunities including those in markets less affected by the downturn.”

Tango’s Jump-Start programme for SAP Business All-in-One is powered by SAP NetWeaver which provides a foundation for organisations that want to add cross functional business capabilities such as human resources, customer relationship and supply chain management.
