SAP to provide partners with access to proprietary value assessment methodology and tools
Sydney, Australia — The SAP partner community in Australia will receive training in SAP’s Value Engineering initiative during a series of SAP Partner Value Academies. The first partner workshop in early October will provide SAP’s partners with the methodologies and tools they need to provide new insights that help their customers identify, and measure the value of proposed IT projects. Attendees will focus on the best practices associated with realising desired business benefits.
SAP Value Engineering quantifies the value from potential systems projects by benchmarking discrete business processes (for example, HR, Finance, Supply Chain) against the industry and global SAP best practice. Being able to accurately quantify the ROI in advance enables a business to prioritise its systems projects and strategic investments accordingly.
“Our partner community is already delivering huge value in Australia and New Zealand. This initiative will take that value focus a step further,” said Greg Harbor, director – Value Engineering, SAP Australia and New Zealand. “Our channel strategy is focused on continuous partner training and enablement, which includes certification programs and sales and marketing support. The Value Academies will provide our partners with new capabilities for assessing the value of competing IT and non-IT projects and anticipating the likely business outcomes. We believe that this will increase their relevance as a strategic business partner to the end customer.”
SAP Value Engineering combines SAP process and industry experience with comprehensive tools and knowledge resources using industry benchmarking data, total cost of ownership models and return on investment analytics. Industry benchmarks and SAP best practices are a core asset of the SAP Value Engineering organisation. Globally, SAP has more than 2,500 benchmarking participants with more than 20 functional areas benchmarked to best practices.
The Partner Academies are the latest development in the roll out of the Value Engineering methodology by SAP in Australia and New Zealand, which began in March 2009 with the launch of an ongoing series of executive Value Academies with customers. The Value Engineering organisation has been a major focus of development for SAP since its inception in early 2005.
