Pulse Mining Systems and SAP ANZ Announce OEM Agreement

Hunter Valley-based ISV Pulse Mining Systems to integrate and resell SAP® BusinessObjects™ portfolio with its ERP software, delivering increased BI reporting power to customers in Australia & New Zealand

Sydney, AustraliaPulse Mining Systems and SAP Australia & New Zealand (SAP ANZ) today announced they have signed an OEM agreement. Under the agreement, Pulse Mining Systems will integrate and resell SAP® BusinessObjects™ business intelligence (BI) solutions as part of its Pulse Mining Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in Australia and New Zealand. The Hunter Valley-based Pulse Mining Systems has been a leading provider of commercial software to the mining industry since 1982.

Pulse Mining Systems has begun the process of integrating SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions with its own enterprise software portfolio. The company has completed the integration with its finance modules and is now focused on incorporating the rest of its platform. Through the resulting integration, Pulse Mining Systems will provide customers with access to highly sophisticated BI reporting capabilities.

“The Pulse Mining Systems software platform is a full-featured ERP solution for the mining industry, which has been developed to address specific process requirements in this industry sector,” said Mark Schroder, managing director, Pulse Mining Systems. “The system collects and manages large amounts of data and information from complex and widely distributed business operations. We recognised the opportunity to provide our customers with enhanced business intelligence functionality and looked to the leading third parties in this space to provide complementary software solutions.”

After drawing up a short list of potential BI solutions, Pulse Mining Systems selected SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions because they provide a complete suite of capabilities ranging from dashboards and management reports to custom report development and ad-hoc data query. The highly flexible and configurable software transforms data into information that organisations can use to make better decisions and manage enterprise performance and compliance with legislation, such as the National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting Scheme (NGERS).

“SAP BusinessObjects software will empower our customers by providing them with access to meaningful data and information. It meets the demands of non-technical business users as well as the more complex requirements presented by developers and database administrators,” continued Schroder. “It makes sense for us to look to a partner like SAP to provide us with BI capabilities that meet our customers’ needs. We don’t have the resources to develop a comparable solution. By teaming with SAP ANZ, we can combine our deep knowledge of the mining industry with the extensive BI knowledge and expertise of a market leader. The feedback from our customers has been fantastic and we are working hard to keep up with the demand for the Pulse Mining Systems ERP solution integrated with SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions.”

“Through this OEM agreement with Pulse Mining Systems, we will provide joint customers in Australia and New Zealand with extra flexibility when accessing, analysing and reporting on the performance of their IT processes,” said Simon Urry, OEM Sales Executive SAP ANZ. “SAP continuously strives to build strong relationships with industry leaders. We look for partners who can complement the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio and provide maximum value to customers. And to help our OEM partners to be successful, we provide a wide range of services, including flexible licensing options, sales, marketing and technical support and education and consulting programs.”

Pulse Mining Systems will provide its existing customers with the opportunity to benefit from the integrated offering via a software upgrade as part of their service and maintenance agreements.
