SAP partner Avantis Information Systems the first to extend their selling capability of the full SAP BusinessObjects portfolio
SYDNEY, Australia — BusinessObjects portfolio in its Extended Business Program (EBP) with the appointment of Avantis Information Systems (Avantis – www.avantis.com.au) as Master Value Added Reseller (Master VAR). The SAP BusinessObjects portfolio is SAP’s business intelligence and analytics solution. The program will be led by SAP and Gold channel partner, Avantis, who have worked with the BusinessObjects portfolio for over nine years. The program is designed to further enable SAP’s diverse eco-system of partners by providing a structured way for them to provide product licensing information and procurement services to their customer base.
The scheme is already proving to be a success, with EBP members providing licensing information and quotes to their customers. These EBP’s are benefiting from potential licence sale opportunities they may have for SAP BusinessObjects software which in the past they would not have been able to service.
Extended Business Members (EBMs) can include hardware vendors, business consulting firms, integrators, resellers and independent software vendors of various sizes, geographic locations and specialist expertise into larger networks.
SAP and Avantis are providing EBMs with all the support that is needed from initial inductions and tailored enablement/demand generation plans; through to sales and pre-sales training, technical training and consultant certification. All members can then work together with and supported by the Avantis to ensure their customers’ needs are fully met.
“At present, we are looking to partner with organisations that do not have the ability to sell all of the SAP BusinessObjects tools but are in a position to identify potential licence opportunities. The EBP will realise the
benefit of such relationships and enable a broader range of players to offer the full portfolio of SAP BusinessObjects software to their customers,” said Colin Pearshouse, General Manager of Avantis.
By becoming an EBM, organisations will be welcomed as a valued member of the SAP partner eco-system and enjoy the benefits of extra revenue from the sale of the full SAP BusinessObjects range and enhanced market visibility. They will have access to all the SAP channel partner privileges, such as the use of the SAP branding; full use of the SAP Channel Partner materials; have the option of attending partner meetings; and take advantage of the focused training and development programmes. Becoming an EBM is free of charge and members do not need to commit to meeting any fixed sales quota targets.

The program is already working and reaping rewards. A number of EBP’s have already started engaging with Avantis; and shortly after joining as an EBP, BCS Technology(www.bcstechnology.com.au) processed the first BusinessObjects EBM deal globally with their customer Air Pacific in Fiji.
Participation in the EBP is voluntary, without cost and open to any company that can identify opportunities for SAP’s business intelligence and analytics solutions. The first phase of the program is in well underway with Avantis looking to partner with 6 to 10 EBMs by the end of 2010. It is hoped that SAP partner eco-system will embrace this exciting new model and that this number will grow significantly over the coming years.
