SYDNEY — SAP Australia New Zealand today announced the launch of its first student-priced editions of SAP Crystal Reports and SAP Crystal Presentation Design Software.
With SAP business intelligence software increasingly being used in the course work of almost all Australian universities, SAP and distribution partner Scholastic Australia have signed an agreement that provides fully featured SAP Crystal Reports and SAP Presentation Design at student-friendly prices. Scholastic will distribute the SAP products via a national network of campus bookstores, IT campus resellers and educational software specialists.
Deborah Brennan, ANZ Distribution Manager SAP Crystal Volume Business said that SAP recognises that many students interact with SAP platforms on a day-to-day basis at university and could benefit greatly from being able to work with these same systems and software for completing assignments and assisting with study.
“These products will assist with almost all the courses currently available in universities and further education establishments across Australia,” said Deborah. “They will enable students to present information, especially data, in a new powerful and visual way, enhancing their work while imparting valuable employment skills.
“We understand that students are often on a tight budget but still want their own access to the software that they use in their course work. In recognition of this we are offering SAP Crystal Reports at $100 (normally $600) and SAP Presentation Design at $50 (normally $280). This means students receive the same great products that they have been working with at university at over 80% off the regular price.”
SAP and Scholastic will deliver these products to students across Australia. Scholastic will assist SAP to identify the main university campuses where SAP Business products are used under licence for teaching students, promote the availability of SAP student editions to lecturers and students.
According to Wayne Cooper, Media and Technology Manager for Scholastic Australia, “There is a high demand for student editions for the software used in university courses. SAP software is being used in courses ranging from IT and commerce to marketing and business. These new student editions demonstrate SAP’s commitment to the tertiary market and delivering value products to students across Australia. We’re delighted to help deliver these products to market.”
The student editions will be available to universities across Australia in early 2011 – in time for new university curriculums.
