Local partner looks for growth for customers and itself through cloud solutions
Auckland — Long-time SAP partner Soltius is gearing up to deliver SAP’s unified cloud portfolio, which will be introduced in New Zealand next week.
“SAP’s complete cloud offering will soon be available in New Zealand as a unified portfolio,” says Nick Mulcahy, Soltius’ general manager – futures. “This means that New Zealand companies of all sizes will have access to world-class business tools and templates that allow them to manage their businesses and compete effectively, both here and in international markets.”
“The introduction of SAP’s extensive cloud solutions in a unified portfolio means that Soltius can grow in areas that were previously unavailable to us,” Mulcahy, adds. “We are in the process of taking on additional staff and will look to employ people with the new skills needed to introduce SAP’s cloud offerings to a wider market and support new customers.”
Soltius was SAP’s first implementation partner in New Zealand and has traditionally focused on supporting SAP implementations in some of New Zealand’s largest organisations, as well as implementing SAP for large mid-market organisations as a reseller of the software. While these remain core markets for Soltius, the company recognises the opportunity represented by SAP’s cloud offerings and is already planning growth in new areas.
Survey findings by the Oxford Economics research programme found that small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) around the world are making major changes to their business models, products and go-to-market strategies. The survey of 2,100 executives from SMEs in 21 countries shows that SMEs believe they are equipped to compete with larger firms and have some clear advantages over them.
“Cloud computing offers SMEs access to reliable and scalable infrastructure resources, configurable platforms and rich applications that can be consumed on an as-a-service basis,” Mucahy says. “This deployment method offers SMEs the opportunity to enhance IT capabilities in a way they previously could not, helping them better serve their customers, better work with their suppliers and attract, develop and retain staff.”
