SAP Appoints Western Australia General Manager

Mobility, cloud and SAP HANA to be at the forefront of driving customer growth in the region

PerthCapitalising on the growth and potential in Western Australia, SAP ANZ has bolstered its senior team with the appointment of Nicole O’Connor as general manager of SAP Western Australia].

In her newly created role, Nicole will be responsible for overseeing the company’s growth in the region and introducing WA customers to the new SAP solutions in Cloud, Mobile and Database Solutions.

During her time in Western Australia, Nicole has seen the region go through a number of different cycles. “The WA marketplace represents a significant opportunity for SAP and I am very excited to be leading SAP through a growth journey in the state that I love,” Nicole comments.

“We have just come through a period of frenetic growth on the back of high commodity prices, and I believe that we are now entering into a period of consolidation and maturation. Customers are looking to slow down and start being more strategic about their investments.”

Account planning and design thinking are just two key tools that Nicole is seeking to leverage as SAP assists Western Australian customers through this new cycle of consolidation and strategic, forward thinking. Although the mining industry dominates the region, Nicole feels that two industry segments gaining greater momentum and becoming significant players in the region are oil & gas and public sector.

“I believe that the breadth of our offerings in areas as diverse as mobility, cloud and our SAP HANA platform will allow customers to see us in a different light and will lead to fresh new dialogue on how SAP can help them,” Nicole adds.

Prior to joining SAP, Nicole worked in a transformational role at the state’s electricity network provider, Western Power, working to change the way the company engaged with corporate clients and leading a team of program sponsors with projects up to $350M in size. Nicole also spent nine years at IBM, latterly in a regional sales manager role, where she saw the WA branch change in a matter of years from a small local sales team to a mature services player with over 600 employees.

Nicole is joined by a newly formed team of specialists who offer the company’s entire range of innovations to Western Australian companies of all sizes – with a particular focus on Cloud, Database Solutions and Mobile.
