It’s a desert out there when it comes to finding candidates to fill roles that require tech skills.
This is in large part due to the rapid digitisation of many businesses through COVID sucking most of the talent out of the market.
SAP Australia and New Zealand’s head of human resources Debbie Rigger agrees offering attractive benefits is essential to find people to fill vacant positions. At the moment, SAP is looking for project managers, business process consultants, technical consultants and managers, solution advisers and engagement engineers.
The business offers a range of benefits across categories, including financial services, health and well-being, family support and protection and transport. An example is SAP’s Life Leave program launched last year. In addition to sick leave and annual leave, it gives staff five additional days’ paid leave to use however they choose. The initiative was developed to recognise the difficulties of managing work and life pressures during the pandemic.
