This solution is being developed to help aerospace and defense companies win more profitable business by improving the speed and accuracy of their capture management process. “We’ve heard from many of our clients in the industry that the effectiveness of their capture management process can make the difference between winning or losing large defense contracts,” said Phil Freedenberg, Managing Director, BearingPoint. “We believe that improvements to the business acquisition process can directly impact the bottom line of an aerospace and defense company.”
The business acquisition process, as managed today, is extremely labor intensive, error prone, and is rarely supported by technology that allows for quick and integrated access to relevant information. Even a modest improvement in the win rate can result in an increase in company revenue. Equally important, improving the accuracy of estimated internal and external costs in the quoting process leads to increased profit margins.
Based on SAP NetWeaver, the Business Acquisition Management Solution is being developed to speed the capture management and proposal process by streamlining the overall cost and quotation cycle by bridging the gap between sales, costing, and procurement in a heterogeneous environment. The flexibility and agility of this solution could enable the integration of the entire capture process including planning, resource management, compliance, and pricing. In addition to increasing the win rate, the solution could also help companies identify and commit resources to more relevant opportunities. BearingPoint is drawing upon its substantial industry expertise to develop the Business Acquisition Management Solution. To date, BearingPoint has served eleven of the largest aerospace and defense global 2000 companies.
