A Brazilian food and beverages company decides to put the fizz back in its IT – with some help from ITS Group, fresh off its stint with the quality services delivered by SAP Partner Service Delivery.
Inspire companies to grow even more – that is the commitment of ITS Group, a Brazilian consulting firm based in the Southern region of Brazil. An SAP gold partner since 2008, the company has recently achieved accreditation from the SAP Partner Quality program, one of a range of quality services provided by SAP Partner Service Delivery. Participation in the program has equipped ITS with an innovative approach to infusing SAP methods and best practices in its implementation projects. The result has been an increase in customer satisfaction.
One of the first companies to benefit from ITS’s new quality framework was Vonpar – a company that operates in the beverages segment, with responsibility for the production and distribution of Coca-Cola soft drinks and Heineken beer; as well as in the food industry as owner of the brand Neugebauer, Brazil’s premier manufacturer of chocolates.
Vonpar is the market leader for soft drinks in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, serving 14 million customers from its three plants and five distribution centers in the territory. Its brand Neugebauer, founded in 1891 by German immigrants, has its operations in the city of Arroio do Meio (RS), where it is considered to have the world’s most modern chocolate factory, thanks to a recent investment of RS$180 million to bring in the latest equipment and technology from around the world.
A challenge to consolidate IT landscape
Vonpar began using SAP ERP software 14 years ago in its beverages division. In 2013, the organization decided to extend its use of SAP solutions to its food division, targeting the unification of its information management. “We needed a solution that would support our growth and at the same time, we wanted to have the support of a consultant with expertise in technology solutions for the food industry,” explains Ricardo Nizoli, Vonpar IT Manager.
With these objectives in mind, Vonpar choose long-time IT partner ITS Group to support it in executing on its IT vision. “ITS is our partner for six years,” says Anderson Rosa, Vonpar project manager. “In addition to considering aspects such as technical qualifications and experience, was confidence in the quality of the work that made us call them for this challenge.”
Astute project management delivers top results
The project took nine months to complete, during which time it mobilized an expert team of 25 professionals from Vonpar and other technology partners, plus 30 ITS consultants. The new SAP ERP application replaced the older system that had been used in Vonpar’s food division. The results were better control, more reliable information and greater synergy between processes, as well as reduced time for accounting closing procedures. SAP Extended Warehouse Management was also implemented to automate the management of the company’s distribution centers.
“There was no delay, based on what we had planned for the project,” says Nizoli. “Scope, cost, and schedule were fully respected. This was due to our firm control, allied of course with the effectiveness of ITS and the professionals who worked on the project.”
Quality underscores ITS commitment to customer success
This success signifies the total focus on results and customer satisfaction that is a reflection of the ITS’s commitment to quality in project management, sales processes, and SAP implementation methodology. Since 2012, the company has achieved annual accreditation from the SAP Partner Quality program. This recognition proves ITS’s alignment with the SAP 10 Quality Principles and also covers internal operation management processes, training, qualification, and certification of professionals. For ITS, quality is an integral part of its commitment to its customers’ success.
