B+S Card Service Relies On Remote SAP solution

March 12, 2007 by admin

F-IT will manage all aspects of B+S Card Service’s SAP solution from its data center in Weinheim, Germany. With its high-availability Professional ERP Advanced Plus solution, F-IT will furnish B+W Card Service with a so-called “shadow” solution that will provide fully redundant data storage and automated data backups. The range of service will minimize downtime in the event of a system malfunction.
F-IT will oversee the complete operation of the B+S Card Service system to ensure electronic credit card processing and point-of-sale terminal availability in the SAP solution is constantly reliable and error-free. Additional services are also provided, including a help desk, first level support, and system monitoring. Powerful and highly redundant RISC servers running Unix/Oracle will form the basis of the system, and all data within the Storage Area Network (SAN) will be synchronously mirrored. System launch is scheduled for March 2007.
“It was important for us to select an IT service provider that could support our sector-specific needs comprehensively and flexibly while also managing and monitoring our entire SAP infrastructure. This will allow us to devote all of our energies to our core business and to position ourselves optimally in the competitive card services market,” says Georg Pistol, department head for organization at B+S Card Service.
