And according to a recent report from Ardent Partners, it requires a new approach and solutions to manage. Smart employers beginning to realize the value of a nimble workforce. According to Workforce 2020, a comprehensive global survey of more than 5,400 executives in 27 countries conducted by Oxford Economics, 83 percent of companies will be increasing the use of contingent, intermittent or consultant employees. Ardent expects current numbers will grow 30 percent over the next three years.
As companies move to more flexible operating models, they need systems that address the complexities of engaging contingent workers across all categories — from traditional temporary labor to complex contingent labor and independent contractors — and provide a comprehensive and flexible approach for managing them alongside permanent workers that is fully integrated with all other business processes.
And according to Dwyer, “VMS technology has risen as the most viable option in the marketplace due to its maturity, evolution and progression in ability to deliver the capabilities and functionalities to address the requirements of the modern and future workforce.”
