Two Top Employer Awards Roll in For SAP Canada

TORONTO, Canada – Nov. 9, 2017 – SAP Canada, a subsidiary of SAP SE (NYSE: SAP), was this week recognized again as a 2018 Aon Best Employer in Canada and, for the fourth consecutive year, included in Mediacorp’s 2018 Canada’s Top 100 Employers list.

Aon Best Employer in Canada is a benchmark for assessing the quality and performance of workplace excellence using global standards based on 20 years of findings from Aon studies. The award is based on responses to employee surveys. Recognized organizations have achieved outstanding results among their Canadian counterparts in four areas: engaging employees, demonstrating effective leadership, building a performance culture and using the strength of their employer brand.

Mediacorp bases its Canada’s Top 100 Employers selections on the workplace, employee benefits, development opportunities, and community involvement. These are some of the reasons for SAP Canada’s 2018 inclusion on the list:

  • Recent investment of $11 million to renovate its Vancouver office, reconfiguring approximately 20,000 square feet into collaborative spaces and dedicated “thinking” rooms. The office also features a micro-market, with concessions from local vendors such as Leafy Greens and Ready Maid, an onsite fitness facility and a wellness room.
  • New employees start with 3 weeks of paid vacation, moving to 4 weeks after only 3 years of employment.
  • Support of several charitable initiatives each year and recently held its 12th annual “Month of Service”, with over 1,660 employees volunteering over 6,200 hours with local community organizations dedicated to creating “healthier and happier Canadian communities”.

These latest two awards take SAP Canada’s tally of top employer accolades for 2017 to seven. In October, the company was named a Best Workplace in Technology and Best Workplace for Millennials by Great Place to Work, and in the same month received Parity Certification from Women in Governance. February saw SAP Canada certified as top a Canadian employer by Top Employers Institute, and in January the company became one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for Young People by Mediacorp.

Agi Garaba, head of HR, SAP Canada, said: “It’s an honour to be consistently recognized as a ‘place to be’ for talent across the country. I believe our open and supportive workplace culture, innovative employee benefits and opportunities for community involvement are among the elements that warrant the attention and praise we are receiving.”

The two most recent awards for SAP Canada follow SAP being named one of the World’s Best Workplaces for 2017 on Great Place to Work’s seventh annual 25 World’s Best Workplaces list, released October 27. SAP qualified after appearing in Great Place to Work Best Workplaces Lists in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Greater China, India, Ireland, Peru, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States.

Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and operating in the Canadian market since 1989, SAP Canada serves more than 2,300 customers and employs more than 3,200 across Canada. The company has research and development labs in Montreal, Toronto, Waterloo and Vancouver.
