December 12, 2005 by admin

The Ketten Wulf Group, the fastest growing manufacturer of conveyor chains, drive chains and sprocket wheels and well-known for its maintenance-free chains employs around 800 employees across the world, including 450 employees in Germany. “The uniform international introduction of SAP software and the central orientation of the IT infrastructure with decision support for management are at the center of our project. SAP Enterprise will enable us to improve the central orientation of the organization even further, for example the centralization of purchases, inventory management and production management, and so allow us to continue to achieve our targeted growth,” substantiated Martin Gies, project manager at Ketten Wulf Betriebs GmbH.
By the end of 2005, itelligence AG’s consultants will have introduced SAP Enterprise in the areas of Finance and Controlling in Germany, Austria and in Belgium. In parallel with this, work has started on the introduction of logistics functions using SAP modules for the areas of production, materials management and sales for the locations in Germany and Belgium for the beginning of 2007. Here the use of SAP’s variant configurations will in particular benefit Ketten Wulf’s logistics operations.
A further important component of process optimization will be the reorganization of intercompany processes. It will thus be possible to automate and then process more quickly decentralized sales processes such as orders received from Ketten Wulf’s various sites in different countries. Roll-out is subsequently planned for France, Austria and China. APO introduction will then follow in 2008.
Julia Wulf, Managing Director of Ketten Wulf: “It is important for us that itelligence can support our international roll-out, as the consulting company has local representation in Belgium, France, Austria and China. We are looking for quality in each project phase. In opting for SAP, we have acquired an ERP solution which we can securely implement in the next 10-15 years.” SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization (SAP APO) is a software solution for a dynamic supply chain. As a component of mySAP Supply Chain Management, APO facilitates the precise monitoring and control of the detailed management, optimization and termination processes performed within the logistics chain beyond the limits of the individual company.
