Delivering a Dealer Service Solution for SAP Business One

SAP Business One is SAP’s easy-to-deploy, affordable and integrated business management solution for small and midsize enterprises. M1, Ceecom’s flagship maintenance and service add-on for SAP Business One, has been implemented at Materials Handling Equipment Corporation (Fort Wayne, IN).The announcements were made at the SAP Field Kick-off Meeting (MGM Grand Conference Center, January 14 – 17).
“Ceecom understands material handling and has developed add-ons to SAP Business One that are designed to reduce maintenance costs, improve equipment utilization, and decrease downtime,” noted Klaus Schottenhamel, president and CEO of IMG Americas. “With Ceecom, IMG will be able to expand its SAP Business One offerings and implementations with an integrated solution that meets the needs of dealers who provide equipment maintenance, repair, overhaul, and support services.
The Ceecom and IMG partnership is integral to the SAP partner ecosystem that is evolving to meet specific SME market demands for which SAP Business One was developed. “IMG Americas has the proven track record in SAP Business One implementations,” said Ray Talwar, president of Ceecom, “and by partnering with IMG we know that materials handling dealerships will benefit from quick time-to-market and more importantly a quick-time-to-value for SAP Business One with M1.”
“SAP Business One with M1 has modernized our operations,” noted Kellen Watkins, president of Materials Handling Corporation (MHEC), a provider of forklifts, specialty products for example casters, hand trucks, safety equipment, and all related design, installation, and support services. The company deployed SAP Business One with M1 to create end-to-end visibility into all aspects of its operations including: equipment configurations; maintenance history; spare parts inventory; labor and parts costs; work orders; and warranty claims. With M1, MHEC has a complete system for preventive and non-scheduled maintenance for all types of fixed and mobile equipment.
Seamlessly integrated with SAP Business One with consistent and easy-to-use navigation, M1 has helped to eliminate redundant work flows, which according to Watkins, “has resulted in 30 percent efficiency improvements.” For example, work orders that usually take 5 to 10 minutes to create are now drawn up in under 20 seconds, which translates into significant time and cost savings. “As fast as you can click a mouse on 5 or 6 fields, you’re ready to rock with M1,” said Watkins. Moving forward, MHEC plans to roll out portals that will give customers easy and immediate access to their complete equipment history. “SAP Business One with M1 allows us to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace – we can offer business services to our customers that no one else can,” said Watkins.
