P\u00e5 en m\u00e5de som er helt fremmed for moderne ledere. Er analysen korrekt? Er der alternativer? Og har kampagnen for flere arbejdstimer utilsigtede konsekvenser?<\/p>\n<p>Vi skal arbejde mere. Hvis vi g\u00f8r det, f\u00e5r vi r\u00e5d til et velf\u00e6rdssamfund, som ellers er udfordret p\u00e5 finansiering og arbejdskraft. Cirka s\u00e5dan lyder r\u00e6sonnementet fra socialdemokratiske ministre i denne tid. Arbejdsl\u00f8sheden er lav, derfor er fokus nu rettet mod at holde l\u00e6ngere p\u00e5 seniorer og f\u00e5 deltidsarbejdende til at g\u00e5 op p\u00e5 fuld tid. Kampagnen tenderer at blive helt moralsk, fordi den kritiserer tidens \u201dforherligelse\u201d af at arbejde f\u00e6rre timer om ugen og ser en indbygget \u201dnedg\u00f8relse\u201d af alle, der passer deres arbejde, som de skal.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Solen sort<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>P\u00e5 en high performance-arbejdsplads som min, kunne ledelsen ikke dr\u00f8mme om at diktere en generel, kvantitativ \u00f8get arbejdstid eller specifik m\u00f8detid, for den sags skyld. Vi l\u00f8nner godt, og langt de fleste arbejder p\u00e5 en m\u00e5de, hvor opgaven skal l\u00f8ses for kunden, og det kr\u00e6ver nogle gange, at man ser igennem fingre med den \u00f8vre gr\u00e6nse for ugentlig arbejdstid. Vores problem er snarere, at vi arbejder solen sort og risikerer at br\u00e6nde ud. Det er ikke b\u00e6redygtigt, og vi m\u00e5 som ledere hj\u00e6lpe ildsj\u00e6le med at finde et b\u00e6redygtigt leje, og sikre at ingen glemmer at holde fri, og her er en pr\u00e6diken om arbejdsmoral komplet kontraproduktiv.<\/p>\n<p>En aktuel unders\u00f8gelse fra Dj\u00f8f viser, at 74 pct. af de medlemmer, der arbejder i statens departementer, overvejer at skifte arbejde. 21 pct. svarer desuden, at de i h\u00f8j grad eller meget h\u00f8j grad er stressede. To ud af fem af de ansatte svarer, at de forventer, at de maksimalt kan leve op til de nuv\u00e6rende krav i to \u00e5r.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Kvalitet frem for kvantitet<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Det er alts\u00e5 ikke kun hos os. Ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5 ministrenes egne (high performance-)arbejdspladser, er problemet ikke at der arbejdes for f\u00e5 timer. M\u00e5ske er det slet ikke en farbar vej at kigge p\u00e5 den helt kvantitative arbejdsm\u00e6ngde. Vi prioriterer i hvert fald hos SAP den kvalitative side og oplevelsen af arbejdet og arbejdspladsen meget h\u00f8jt. Den enkeltes egen motivation og f\u00f8lelse af personlig udvikling, tilh\u00f8rsforhold og meningsfuldhed er p\u00e5 mange m\u00e5der det vigtigste mantra i moderne ledelse. Bliver jeg som medarbejder set og h\u00f8rt?<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e5ske er denne tendens ved at brede sig alle steder i samfundet? Vi tager stadig mere personlige og individuelle valg, og derfor vil vi gerne arbejde mindre, n\u00e5r b\u00f8rnene er sm\u00e5, eller n\u00e5r vores for\u00e6ldre bliver syge. Vi insisterer p\u00e5 at det skal give mening, hvad vi bruger vores arbejdsliv p\u00e5. Hvis denne holdning til arbejdet ogs\u00e5 findes i de store velf\u00e6rdssektorer, s\u00e5 skal vi hilse det velkommen. Opgaven med at passe b\u00f8rn, hj\u00e6lpe \u00e6ldre eller kurere syge mennesker er jo virkelig meningsfuld. Jeg vil da hellere have at mine b\u00f8rns l\u00e6rer, sygeplejersken jeg m\u00f8der p\u00e5 skadestuen eller sosu\u2019en p\u00e5 mine bedstefor\u00e6ldres plejecenter er drevet af begejstring og personlig stillingtagen end af pligtf\u00f8lelsen over for velf\u00e6rdsstaten.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Den teknologiske l\u00f8sning<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jeg f\u00e5r ogs\u00e5 lyst til at udfordre argumentationsk\u00e6den mere fundamentalt. Historisk er det givetvis rigtigt, at danskernes h\u00f8je arbejdsmoral er en vigtig bidragyder til vores velstand. Men de strukturelle problemer med flere \u00e6ldre og mere kr\u00e6vende b\u00f8rn er s\u00e5 store, at p\u00e5 den lange bane batter det ikke med inddragede bededage, moderate skattelettelser og moralske opsange. Det er mere realistisk, at teknologien \u2013 eksempelvis kunstig intelligens &#8211; kommer til at lette byrden og \u00f8ge kvaliteten.<\/p>\n<p>Det kan godt v\u00e6re at teknologien letter administrative arbejdsopgaver langt mere end opgaverne for de varme h\u00e6nder i velf\u00e6rdssektorerne. Men tingene h\u00e6nger jo sammen. Hvis vi arbejder mere, hvad betyder det s\u00e5 negativt for b\u00f8rns trivsel? Vores stresstilstand?\u00a0 Omsorgen for andre og for familiemedlemmer?<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e5ske fris\u00e6tter teknologien mennesker til at v\u00e6re mere produktive p\u00e5 kort tid, s\u00e5 familier og civilsamfund kan tr\u00e6kke nogle af pasningsopgaverne tilbage fra institutionerne? Ville det strukturelt set ikke v\u00e6re en bedre l\u00f8sning p\u00e5 velf\u00e6rdssamfundets udfordringer, hvor de professionelle bliver r\u00e5dgivere og en backup-mulighed?<\/p>\n<p>Ud fra langsigtet ledelse af virksomheder (og af vores samfund) er det ikke produktivt bare at arbejde mere.
