SAP Quality Award 2011 recognizes the best SAP implementation projects in the Nordic and Baltic region 2011

HelsinkiSAP on julkistanut SAP Quality Award 2011 -palkinnon pohjoismaiset voittajat. Tanskalaiset ATP ja Vestas Wind Systems A/S sekä Norjalainen NSB AS palkittiin kullalla erinomaisten SAP-implementointiprojektiensa johdosta. Suomalaisista osallistujista Kela sijoittui pronssille uusien liiketoimintaratkaisujen kategoriassa

This naturally includes quality and speed of the SAP implementation, and encompasses clear objectives, excellent project management and user involvment. SAP and its partners have an excellent record of how to ensure successful implementations – on time, on budget and with measurable and sustainable business and user value. Since 2008, SAP recognizes particularly successful customer projects with the Quality Award. The SAP Quality Award 2011 is awarded in gold, silver and bronze each in the 3 categories – implementation of new business solution, small to medium-sized implementation (less than 400 users), medium to large implementation (more than 400 users).
The winning companies from the Nordic countries of 2011 are:

Category New Business Solution
Gold winner: NSB AS, Norway
Efficient implementation of Norwegian Payroll at Norwegian Railway Company with SAP Human Capital Management solution. With 500 initial and a total of 5500 future users, NSB has managed to considerably reduce costs and enhance effectiveness through standardisation.

Silver winner: NMD AS, Norway
Largest player in the Norwegian Pharmaceuticals market, NMD established a new e-commerce service for their enterprise customers based on SAP Customer Relationship Management, SAP Enterprise Portal, including internet pricing applications and accelerated analytics capabilities. NMD offers comprehensive services of purchasing and delivering pharmaceuticals to customers such as state-owned hospitals and own pharmacy chains.
Bronze winner: Kela, Finland
The Social Insurance Government agency in Finland has upgraded its infrastructure and ERP applications on time at lower costs than estimated.

Category Small to Medium-sized implementation
Gold winner: Vestas Wind Systems A/S –, Denmark.
Implementation of a shared employee service center for HR and Culture Line of Business, based on pre-defined services for SAP CRM. Vestas saved around 4 months implementation time compared to own solution development, and has now expanded solution to internal CAD solution support.
Silver winner: Arla Foods Amba, Denmark.
Being the world’s seven largest dairy company, Arla also has to manage vast amounts of milk surplus, which are often processed into powdered milk. To improve planning and forecasting of this business, the company has provided its divisions with a quicker, uniform view of all plans by accelerating their analytics on the basis of the existing SAP platform and applications.
Bronze winner: Notabene Holding AS, Norway.
New implementation of industry-specific SAP All-in-One solution for retailers, Retail@Pearl, at Notabene, which is a growing Norwegian gift and book retailer with 150 stores.

Category Medium to Large implementation
Gold winner: ATP, Denmark.

Very successful implementation of SAP for Insurance solution for managing ”FerieKonto” at ATP, the Danish National Holiday Allowance provider. Project implemented in 11 months with 900.000 users.
Silver Winner: AxFood AB, Sweden.

One of the largest retailers and wholesale businesses in Scandinavia, AxFood have successfully modernized core solutions and accelerated flexibility in their entire supply chain in only 18 months and for more than 5000 users by implementing SAP for Retail, including business warehouse, portal and process integration.
Bronze winner: Carlsberg Breweries A/S, Denmark
Carlsberg has created one platform for all subsidiaries to support strong growth and eliminate heterogeneous IT systems. In only 18 months, the initial 1,100 users went live in Switzerland with SAP core ERP and warehouse management solutions. Carlsberg plans to expand this to 16,000 users and to integrate the entire supply chain management.
