SAP Resells ARIS Software to Help Customers Accelerate Solution Upgrades, Boost Efficiency of Business Processes and Ensure Compliance with Government Regulations
Saarbrücken/Walldorf — In an effort to help customers worldwide accelerate solution upgrades, boost business process efficiency and ensure government regulatory compliance, IDS Scheer and SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced an expansion of their reseller agreement for IDS Scheer’s ARIS Platform. In response to growing customer demand, SAP will now globally resell additional IDS Scheer ARIS software packets for managing business processes that are marketed under the name “SAP Enterprise Modeling Applications by IDS Scheer”, which includes packages such as “SAP Process Performance Management by IDS Scheer”.
Today’s announcement builds on the strong relationship already in place between SAP and IDS Scheer. IDS Scheer is an SAP global services partner and SAP is a strategic partner of IDS Scheer. Both companies offer the ARIS for SAP NetWeaver® joint application, a comprehensive business process analysis (BPA) solution that allows customers to model and align business processes with SAP applications.
“We are pleased to see the cooperation with SAP now placed on a broader foundation,” said Dr. Wolfram Jost, member of the Executive Board with responsibility for Product Strategy, Development and Marketing at IDS Scheer AG. “The addition of other ARIS platform products to the existing reseller agreement boosts the partnership between our two companies. At the same time, the expanded agreement strengthens IDS Scheer’s future growth potential in these specific product areas and helps consolidate the market leadership of ARIS in the field of BPM.”
Through the expanded reseller agreement, which complements the agreement in place since 2003 that covers ARIS for SAP NetWeaver, SAP will resell additional ARIS software packets for the following three areas:
Process Performance Management
Process performance management (PPM) is becoming increasingly important for companies seeking to maximize efficiency in their business operations. SAP Process Performance Management by IDS Scheer analyzes processes running in SAP solutions and automatically generates graphic documentation of the as-is processes. At the same time, the system uses previously defined process performance indicators to evaluate the current process performance from a pure business perspective. The solution provides intuitive analytical features and cockpit displays of the current process performance indicators and the related graphical process structure. An integrated early warning system and process mining capabilities automatically monitor all processes and display a warning if these deviate from the plan. SAP Process Performance Management by IDS Scheer makes a decisive contribution to continuous process improvements and sustainable, efficient and innovative SAP solution-based business processes.
Enterprise Modeling and Business Intelligence Re-documentation
Companies’ business processes are often based on complex IT landscapes that call for order and transparency. This entails a holistic enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) to identify mission-critical IT systems and align them to the requirements of the business processes. With SAP Enterprise Modeling by IDS Scheer complemented by enterprise architecture management, users of SAP applications will now have a clearly structured, easily understandable description method that covers all the relevant elements in today’s architecture standards. The software supports all the necessary planning processes for establishing the target architecture that is geared to the business processes.
With the BI (business intelligence) modeling capabilities of SAP Enterprise Modeling by IDS Scheer, SAP will now offer integration with an SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI)-based landscape. This supports IT managers, BI experts and staff in the specialist departments in the end-to-end re-documentation, conception and modeling required for BI rollout, harmonization or consolidation projects.
Business Process Optimization
SAP Business Process Optimization by IDS Scheer adds quantitative process analysis to web-based modeling with the help of extensive simulation functionalities. Companies will be able to realistically simulate process hierarchies and interlinked business processes. Organizational structures and other resources involved in the process are also taken into account. With SAP Business Process Optimization by IDS Scheer, business process improvements can help to optimize process handling times, reduce costs and increase the quality of processes. A web-based tool for key figure-based process optimization is also included to aid in corporate decision making.
“Business process management is an important component of executing a successful enterprise service-oriented architecture strategy,” said Hans-Juergen Uhink, senior vice president, New Business Development EMEA, SAP AG. “The expansion of our previous offerings in this environment to incorporate process performance management, enterprise modeling and business process optimization will help our customers to understand and analyse their business processes and IT architecture in order to implement business innovation with enterprise SOA. With this expanded reseller agreement with IDS Scheer, we can offer our customers worldwide an enhanced enterprise modelling solution that goes beyond traditional business process analysis towards covering a complete business architecture.”
