Edward Cone, Deputy Director of Thought Leadership and Technology Practice Lead at Oxford Economics, oversees global research programs and is responsible for the Thought Leadership group’s social media and multimedia programs. His areas of expertise include cloud computing, the Internet of Things, the impact of technology on business performance, and healthcare organizations.
Ed joined the firm in 2012 after more than two decades as a business and technology journalist based in New York, Paris, and North Carolina, including stints as an editor and senior writer at various Ziff Davis magazines (CIO Insight, Baseline, InteractiveWeek), a contributing editor at Wired, and a staff writer at Forbes.
An early adopter of social media, his case study on the use of the internet in presidential campaigns and corporate marketing won a national editors’ award for excellence. Ed also wrote a weekly newspaper opinion column for many years in his hometown of Greensboro, NC.
Ed has contributed to a wide variety of magazines and papers on topics ranging from restaurants to rock climbing, and was a frequent speaker and organizer at new media conferences across the country. He has a BA from Haverford College.
A talk radio and cable TV broadcast journalist since 1995, media producer / host Bonnie D. Graham created and launched SAP Coffee Break with Game-Changers Radio in Fall 2011.
