The long-established HETAL-Werke company, which has been owner-managed for five generations, is a specialist in fittings and hinges. In the area of furniture fittings, the company manufactures system solutions for the kitchen bathroom, office and furniture industries. In the automotive business area, the southern German company manufactures adjustable assemblies for the vehicle seats of renowned automobile brands. The mid-market company HETAL employs a total of around 300 staff in its two factories. The first phase of the multi-stage introduction of the mySAP Business Suite will be completed on January 1, 2006. Then HETAL will be using the mySAP Business Suite for the entire sales, production, finance and accounting, and controlling functions.
SAP will thus replace a whole range of “standalone IT solutions” in the various business areas and will be used as an end-to-end IT system by HETAL. The planned introduction of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and the integration of the CAD systems (CATIA for the automotive area and SolidWorks for the furniture fittings area) will round off the migration to SAP over the course of 2006. Ingo Meyer, organizational development manager and project manager at HETAL-Werke explains his expectations as follows: “The introduction of the integrated IT system will enable us to significantly reinforce our market position, as SAP will allow us to further standardize and optimize our business processes. itelligence AG’s consultants’ experience of the furniture and automobile supply industry will ensure a short introduction time, as everyone will be speaking the same language.”
