From viewing customer data through calculating price lists and updating inventories – the most important SAP Business One functions have been available in app form for iPhones and iPads for some time. Now an update has been released with new features.

SAP Business One is specially tailored to the needs of small companies. The application covers all the key processes that a small organization needs and uses, including financials, purchasing, material procurement, and customer management. It can be worth deploying SAP Business One in firms that have upward of just five users.

With the mobile version of SAP Business One, you can view reports, process approvals, and manage customer and partner data. The only prerequisite for using the app on an iPhone or iPad is that SAP Business One version 8.8 (or higher) must be installed on the company server.

Using the App

When you start the app, an overview appears with Approvals, Alerts, Reports, Business Partners, Inventories, and Pricelists. Users are also shown their task list and important key figures such as orders and sales. A particularly practical feature is that users are informed by alerts if approved discounts deviate from the agreed amount, if prices increase, or if credit limits are exceeded. These alerts can be sorted according to date, priority, or type.

Because SAP Crystal Reports software is integrated, employees can use the SAP Business One app to receive reports or send reports as e-mails.

With the Business Partners feature, users can access addresses, telephone numbers, and customer and partner contact details, as well as take a look at all their activities. In addition, the SAP Business One app makes available data on stock levels, purchase and sales prices, product quantities, and product specifications.

Version 1.2.0 takes up 6.3 MB. In this new version, the authorizations of each individual user are verified even more securely. Furthermore, all the information on stock levels is sorted according to each warehouse. Another new feature is that user-defined fields can be displayed in master data and transactions. And: Version 1.2.0 is compatible with iOS 4.3.

The SAP Business One app runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. You’ll need iOS 3.0 or higher. The app is available in the following languages: English, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovakian, Spanish, and Swedish.
