New compliance software developed for Japanese market, using products from US-based Virsa Systems
Tokyo — SAP Japan Co., Ltd. on October 25, 2005 announced the company will begin offering SAP Compliance Calibrator by Virsa Systems (“SAP CC”) effective immediately, in order to enhance SAP Japan’s compliance solutions.
To businesses today, compliance is an issue of extremely high priority because by implementing compliance in optimal ways, businesses can enhance their corporate value. SAP Japan, by providing a comprehensive tool-set that integrates mySAP ERP and SAP CC, will support companies considering compliance with “Japanese SOX legislation.”
To date, SAP Japan has offered internal administration solutions centered around mySAP ERP, which provides various authorization management capabilities. However, there has been a tendency for authorization settings to be user-dependent. By integrating mySAP ERP with SAP CC, it is possible to automatically check whether authorization settings are optimal in preventing unauthorized transactions. In this way, SAP CC supplements and reinforces the internal administration and compliance functionalities of mySAP ERP, not only achieving high levels of security and management, but also implementing a real-time, ongoing compliance solution. SAP CC, which was developed by Virsa Systems (“Virsa”), based in Fremont, California, will now be offered as an additional solution for use with mySAP ERP. SAP CC shortens the evaluation cycle, and enables risks associated with internal administration to be ascertained in advance, by generating rules for segregation of user authorization and identifying settings that conflict with the rules. In addition, SAP CC enables the auditing process to be improved and streamlined. It supplements the comprehensive compliance functionalities of mySAP ERP, which enables the management of internal administration projects overall, including documentation, as well as the monitoring of administration risks and issues for each business process.
