SAP Japan Launches “Safe Passage” Program for customers to ensure safe Migration from Oracle Products to SAP Products

TokyoSAP Japan Co., Ltd. today announced a comprehensive offering for SAP customers running solutions from PeopleSoft , JD Edwards (JDE) and Siebel with a flexible road map that includes SAP® applications, technology and maintenance services. The offering provides companies a safe passage away from the uncertainties arising out of the acquisition of those software brands by Oracle Corporation and a clear road map to assist these companies in evolving to the next generation of business software.

Safe Passage is a program for customers that use the following Oracle Applications: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards World, Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, and Siebel Business Applications. Safe Passage enables customers to make a smooth transition to SAP products, while utilizing their current IT investments and assets. In specific terms, SAP bears up to 75% of the initial license fee for previous Oracle Applications, and provides a connector for integrating Oracle Applications with SAP NetWeaver, the latest integrated application platform. In addition, SAP and its partner companies provide tools and services to ensure a safe transition.

The program enables customers to configure and operate new processes that encompass heterogeneous environments, by scaling up smoothly from their current Oracle Applications assets to the latest IT platform, and integrating their applications with SAP NetWeaver. SAP products are developed on the basis of an architecture called Enterprise SOA, which enables customers to respond promptly to industry changes and accomplish innovation. In addition SAP provides a clear product roadmap so customers can ascertain their costs and timeline regarding future migrations, and select a convenient schedule for migrating step-by-step to the latest business applications, safely and reliably.

The Safe Passage program is already implemented in more than 200 companies worldwide. SAP Japan will promote the program intensively.
