Egypt’s Amer Group Selects Leading Enterprise Solution Provider to Synergize Regional Operations
Cairo, Egypt — SAP (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Amer Group, the creator of landmark lifestyle destinations across the region, has chosen SAP’s flagship enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, SAP® ERP, to synergize the group’s operations across the Middle East.As the developer prepares for fast-tracked growth, it has enlisted SAP and implementation partner Certified IT Consultants to provide a customized real estate and construction solution that will increase efficiency across five central departments, including, Sales, Finance, Projects Portfolio, Procurement and HR, according to Ibrahim Ahmed, Chairman of Certified IT Consultants.
By adopting SAP solutions, Amer Group plans to accelerate the pace at which information is exchanged among the group’s various business units, while improving productivity through faster decision making.“We have worked hard through the years to present the market with popular concepts while maintaining our core values and feel that our team is now ready to expand its horizons with more advanced technologies, enabling us in the short term to expand our “PORTO” concept and restaurant brands regionally, and eventually beyond,” said Mansour Amer, Chairman, Amer Group. One of the largest private companies in Egypt to issue a full-scale SAP implementation, Amer’s executives decided to select SAP following a survey conducted across the Middle East which determined that the global company provided the best solutions to meet its specific needs. “As we look to extend our footprint globally, we need to be able to integrate our group’s entire corporate structure first, and that means having a seamlessly integrated platform across all of our core business units,” said Norman Abdulla, President, Amer Group. “Ultimately, we want to leverage the best solutions to deliver the best quality projects to our customers.”
“As an innovative, high speed developer of tourism projects, Amer Group has never shied away from a challenge, and we will continue meeting new challenges with world class business solutions,” said Omar Amer, Vice Chairman, Amer Group. The implementation is to be rolled out in three phases over a 12 month period, beginning with real estate, and followed by construction, procurement, human resource and facility management in 2009. “As one of the leading Egypt-based developers, Amer Group is known for some of the most innovative real estate concepts in the region,” said Sergio Maccotta, Managing Director, SAP MENA. “As they grow in size and sophistication, our global solutions will help them remain at the cutting-edge.” Amer Group is the second largest real estate company in Egypt, specializing in the development of luxury tourism developments and entertainment outlets, with its pioneering Porto Marina resort among its trademark concepts.
