Provost Hails University Alliance Program’;s Ability to Connect Theory With Practice and Increase Graduate job prospects across Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaAlfaisal University is the latest educational institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to join SAP’;s globally acclaimed University Alliance Program (UAP).

The agreement will give Alfaisal University graduates the skills needed to add immediate value to the country’;s burgeoning IT market, and faculty members the tools and resources to vividly illustrate how technology can enable integrated business processes and strategic thinking.

Alfaisal University is the 10th university in Saudi Arabia to join the UAP.

“Alfaisal University is committed to providing world-class educational programs to students that benefit the Kingdom and stimulate the development of knowledge-based economies. Joining SAP’;s UAP fits well within our aspiration to embrace technology that is capable of unlocking new educational possibilities and, ultimately, increasing graduate employment prospects,” said Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Mubarak, Provost, Alfaisal University.

Supporting existing business, engineering and IT programs, the UAP provides hands-on experience of key SAP technologies, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), and puts theory into practice through demonstrations, case studies and research.

UAP member schools gain access to the SAP Business Suite family of solutions, which includes SAP ERP. The comprehensive business software suite supports business, engineering and information technology programs, enabling students to put classroom theory into practice through demonstrations, exercises and problem solving, case studies, and research programs.

In particular, Alfaisal University students will gain insight into how technology can empower businesses to optimize key processes such as accounting and controlling, human capital management, project planning, plant and materials management, and sales and distribution.

SAP’;s UAP currently counts 26 members across the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region, and the company aims double that figure within the next four years.

“Saudi Arabia is currently booming, and SAP is dedicated to developing a fresh, highly-skilled worker base that is well equipped to support the country’;s technology sector. Students from Alfaisal University will now gain hands-on experience with technology and strategic thinking that puts them in pole position to secure business leadership positions across the Kingdom,” said Ahmed Al-Faifi, Managing Director, SAP Saudi Arabia.
