ESA provides a blueprint for a business-driven approach to service oriented architectures (SOA) to help customers automate business processes across different enterprise systems and applications and reduce the complexity and costs of integration. Mercury made this announcement in conjunction with leading IT companies, including leaders in hardware, software, networking, database management, information storage, document technology, and security.
“We are working closely with leaders across the IT industry, including Mercury, to better serve customers by offering flexible business solutions that leverage ESA and deliver on the promise of enterprise services,” said Shai Agassi, president of the product and technology group and member of the executive board at SAP. “We rely on Mercury to help standardize the quality process through the delivery of performance management solutions that are Enterprise Services Ready.” Working together through existing joint offerings, Mercury and SAP will provide best practices, software, and services to help customers adopt ESA, and to assist customers in their pursuit to:
- Ensure Web services quality and reliability in highly customized, rapidly changing, heterogeneous environments;
- Ensure the performance and scalability of business processes that are dependent on both SAP and non-SAP enterprise Web services;
- Identify, diagnose and resolve performance issues created by customizations, integration with third-party Web services, and infrastructure changes; and
- Manage service levels of business processes that span multiple companies, partners and outsourcers from an end-user perspective.
“The adoption of Web services and service oriented architectures is fundamentally changing the way IT is delivering value to the business,” said Zohar Gilad, senior vice president of strategy at Mercury. “Mercury is pleased to work with SAP to help our joint customers successfully deliver and manage their ESA applications and ensure these initiatives meet the needs of the business.”
