At the SAP locations in Mumbai, Bangalore, London, and Paris they are already up and running, and in July they opened in Walldorf, Germany and Newtown Square, USA. The Mobile Solution Centers (MSCs) offer SAP customers and employees an in-depth look into the growing world of mobile IT. In response to the increasing demand of mobile solutions, SAP IT now gives users the opportunity to get to know current mobile apps and new devices and to receive expert advice.
“Mobility is important to SAP and to our customers,” says Alexander Arnold, head of Mobile Business Solutions in the DACH region. “These centers allow our customers to see our mobile solutions firsthand, in use at SAP, so they can better understand how our mobile strategy can support them.”
The centers are comprised of different areas in which hardware and software are displayed and explained. The accessibility of the devices and mobile solutions is an essential factor, as the ‘mobile’ theory is effectively put into practice. In the display section, Apple, BlackBerry, and Samsung devices are presented. Here, employees and customers can test applications and check the compatibility of the devices with innovative mobile solutions. The specialists are at hand to give all necessary technical information.

In the demo area, customers can experiment with SAP’s mobile solutions and learn about suitable apps for their line of business, for example SAP Electronic Medical Record. This useful app helps doctors gain a quick overview of their patients’ medical information – test results or X-ray pictures are available at the touch of a screen.
Following the openings in Walldorf and Newtown Square, additional MSCs are planned for Palo Alto, Vancouver, São Paolo and the EMEA and APJ region. They may differ in size, but the concept remains the same. “Our Mobility Solution Centers show our mobile strategy in action.
